Who is this course for?
This course is intended for all FNUSA/FNUSA-ICRC employees who are interested in basic work with the R programming language. No previous experience with this program is required for the course. However, you must bring your own laptop to the course.
What will you learn in the course
In the course, we will teach you how to work with the R programming language in its integrated RStudio development environment. The main goal will be to understand the functions and know where to find information about them, not to know them by heart. You will learn the basic principles of programming in the R language, how to create vectors, matrices and data tables. You will also learn how to work with logical expressions, set operators and conditional commands. The course will also include the creation and editing of graphs with a focus on the ggplot2 library. Last but not least, you will learn how cycles work and how to apply the apply function and its alternatives.
Who will guide you through the course
The course is provided by the FNUSA-ICRC Department of Biostatistics. Experienced statisticians of this department with several years of experience with the R programming language will guide you through the course.
